'Bootlegging' Alcohol is Illegal in Utah

Keeping alcohol out of the hands of minors is a high priority.

Purchasing and transporting alcohol across the state line is illegal. Agents from the Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Bureau patrol the state borders on a regular basis looking for this very thing.

This photo shows some of the alcohol that was seized at the Utah/Wyoming border during a patrol that was conducted just prior to Halloween 1999. More often than not, the alcohol purchased out of state is intended to be consumed by minors attending parties.
