Definitely, The Fast-Lane!
Trooper (Ret) Wayne Rider, like so many of our Troopers, has a whole laundry-list of summer and part-time activities. One of Wayne's favorite activities for the past several years has been "Driving Truck". Not just any old truck. The tractor and trailer that delivers the hot bikes on schedule at contests all over the country for the Kawasaki Motorcycle Racing Team.
The 2002 Racing Season started on March 8 at Gainesville, Florida, and concluded with the races on November 8, also at Gainesville, Florida. A hectic nine-month schedule for a dedicated winning team. As you can see, they were very successful.
Unfortunately, the after-season ended with a bad-bang, when Wayne was involved in an auto-pedestrian
traffic accident after returning to California. Wayne was the pedestrian.
Below are a few of the photos taken of Wayne, his daughter Kathy, and others on the Kawasaki Team during the summer of 2002. We hope Wayne recovers from his injuries so that he can update us after the racing season is finished in 2003!
Very Good Work, Wayne. We can just imagine the turmoil at the race tracks if you had not accomplished your delivery jobs to perfection, as usual. And congratulations to the engineers and staff at Kawasaki!

Roll Back The Calendar!
When Trooper (Ret) Dale Hooper, known in black-powder circles as "Shorty LaMoor", takes a day of it is often with his trusty 45-70 rifle and pistol loaded with black-powder, his frontier get-up and that pretty lady you see in the photo.
Now, according to what this Old Bear saw at the Mantua B.E.W.F.I. Shooting Range, there should be some limit to how much fun you can have and still be legal. These "Cowboy Shooters" could get you enthused about that black-powder stuff quicker than the Great White Shark could turn you into a golf addict.
Seems every first saturday of the month, snow depth willing, they meet together and burn powder up the canyon from Brigham City. That is, when they are not involved somewhere else with a competition shoot. "Y'All Come, Y'Hear?"

Trooper Trades Cruiser For Airplanes
Troopers trade off their cruisers for lots of playthings; motorcycles, motorhomes, golf clubs, boats, fishing cabins, ... You name it, they've probably traded their cruisers in for it.
But this trade... Bowman, you've outdone the "Big-Boy-Toy" traders!
