Meth Labs in Utah |
This is a photo of one of the meth labs destroyed by DPS. Illegal Meth labs in Utah have reached epidemic proportions, with devastating results for society. Agents for the State of Utah Department of Public Safety, Criminal Investigations (Bureau Narcotics Division) are actively involved in the detection, processing, and disposal of these extremely hazardous labs. Our Agents are also working from a pro-active approach, through educating the public and investigation of precursor chemical movements. Our UHP Troopers, as well as officers from other agencies, are always on the lookout for signs of illegal drug operations throughout the state. Whether in an otherwise quiet neighborhood, a motel, an apartment building or out in our vast outdoor recreation areas, if you notice suspicious behavior on the part of people, or notice strange smells that may be a cooking operation, use your brain, enumerate what you are seeing, hearing and smelling, notice exactly what and where it is, get vehicle and personnel descriptions and give us a call. 911 usually works throughout the state but you will have to tell the operator where you are. Tell us about your suspicions. We can usually meet you within a few minutes to discuss what you have noticed. You just may save some lives, and help put away a dangerous criminal operation. Any illegal drug operation is a threat to honest citizens. Whether it is a hemp crop hidden in the mountains, or a meth lab in a neighborhood or on wheels. Every honest citizen within explosion, or shooting, distance, is in peril of their lives, families and homes. Besides, many of the profits from illegal drug trade goes to finance even more directly dangerous operations to your family, your safety and your way of life. Besides, we all just really enjoy busting a drug operation and putting the perps away. That's right up there with busting a drunk or reckless driver before they kill someone! |
